Antonio Inglese ATU Facing to the east Speech Successfully Held
The lecture of Facing to the East: visions and sketches in Lecture Hall, 2F, Guanshanyue Art Museum began at 2:30 pm on Oct. 19th, 2014 (Sunday). Mr. Antonio Inglese, Founder, CEO and Chief Designer of Metrostudio, was invited by ATU to have the wonderful lecture lasting for 3 hours. The lecture hall was fully packed and around 300 people taken part in. The professional, active and humorous speech of Mr. Antonio made the scene audience to erupt the intermittent laughter frequently. In the question-and-answer portion, the scene atmosphere was alive and the audience invited to Mr. Antonio to take photos with them.
After the lecture, Mr. Antonio Inglese was also interviewed by SKTV for some valuable advices on Shekou future urban development and how to create a comfortable life for the people and a model of industry area for other places.
Abstract: Facing to the east is not only standing in one place watching another place, it is a larger vision moving all around the world. In fact: China is on the east of America, Europe is on the east of China. All of the world is on the east. Facing to the east means facing to the world, with our eyes filtering our visions through the taste of our mind. Facing to the east, is an intimate exploration about directions to the unknown, within a deep but synthetic vision of places, across the experience of one of the fathers of modern design. Following the trip of Le Corbusier in 1911 across Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Hungary, Istanbul, Athens, etc. to discover the unknown world for life does not belong to those who know …it belongs to those who discover. Meanwhile, Mr. Antonio listed some famous Italian designer's special visions and pointed out that to use the unique visions to observe the world. Finally, he shared his own sketches and interesting experience living in China.
